In mid-July we were delighted to welcome a large group of young people and their leaders from the French Reformed Church based in Aix en Provence. They spent the first part of their trip in Ballintoy Hostel with young people from Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Karen Campbell and her family, enjoying the most glorious weather for years.

The second part of the trip was based in Lisburn with generous hospitality extended by members of the Church. The French visitors were very impressed with the warm welcome given to them by the Mayor of Lisburn, Mr Trevor Lunn, and by Lisburn PSNI. Sunday 23 July was a particular highlight as the French group participated in a moving, bilingual morning service. Later they hosted a French cultural evening inviting church members to a sumptuous meal which concluded with stories, reflections, chansons and prayers.

It was hard to say "au revoir". Sincere thanks must go to Rev. Karen Campbell for all her preparatory work and for her inpit during the visit. Thanks also go to Rev. Dr. Gordon Campbell who connected his Church in France to Harmony Hill where he assisted pastorally for 6 months earlier in the year.
