Bright winter sunshine welcomed a large congregation at Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church Lambeg when the dedication of the new entrance and vestibule area took place on Sunday 5 March 2006.
The Very Rev Dr Alastair Dunlop unveiled a plaque and dedicated the new entrance to the Glory and Honour of God. Presentations of windows where made by the Kirkwood family in memory of their mother Mrs Madge Kirkwood, who was the first lady elder ordained in Harmony Hill and by members of the Afternoon Tea Dance Group and both where dedicated to the Glory and Praise of God.
The choir sang an introit ‘Before the throne of God’ after which the senior minister Rev Harold Gray read from the scriptures. Rev David Knox welcomed Rev Dunlop and all visitors to this special service. He expressed his thanks and gratitude to all who contributed to the refurbishment of the entrance to the vestibule.
After the anthem ‘Love Divine’ Dr Dunlop delivered his sermon referring to the illuminating light that reflected in the new vestibule and how our lives should illuminate the light of God’s love to all sections of the community.
