| About the Church |
|
Lambeg village was founded in 1676 but an ancient Church and nunnery had been destroyed earlier that century by Oliver Cromwell. The present Presbyterian Church was founded in 1954, having grown from a Sunday School and prayer meetings started in 1902 by First Lisburn Congregation. The old Lambeg Presbyterian Church Hall, purchased by First Lisburn Church, had been used for the Sunday School from 1929 and as the Church or “Upper Room” until May 1965, when the present Church was dedicated.
